Is kisspeptin-10 FDA-approved?
Not approved by the FDA. Products sold online as "research chemicals" aren't checked for purity, sterility or dose.
Overview
Kisspeptin neurons tell the brain to release GnRH, which then drives LH, FSH and sex hormones. In a small study in healthy men, kisspeptin-10 quickly raised LH and testosterone. A longer form, kisspeptin-54, has been tested in IVF as a gentler way to trigger egg maturation in women at risk of ovarian hyperstimulation.
How it works
It binds KISS1R on GnRH neurons, which then release GnRH in pulses, leading to LH and FSH release from the pituitary.
How long does kisspeptin-10 stay in the body?
Very short: a few minutes in the blood.
What it's studied for
- Reproductive hormone release in men and women
- IVF egg maturation trigger
- Low libido and reproductive disorders
Related: hMG (Menotropins), Gonadorelin, HCG, Triptorelin.
