Is ipamorelin FDA-approved?

Not approved by the FDA. Products sold online as "research chemicals" aren't checked for purity, sterility or dose.

Is ipamorelin banned in sport?

Banned in sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Overview

Ipamorelin mimics ghrelin and binds the growth hormone secretagogue receptor. Early animal work found it more selective than older peptides like GHRP-6. In people, research is limited to a dosing study and a phase 2 trial for slow gut recovery after bowel surgery, where it didn't beat placebo.

How it works

It switches on the ghrelin receptor in the pituitary, which releases a single pulse of growth hormone.

How long does ipamorelin stay in the body?

About 2 hours in a human dosing study. The growth hormone pulse peaks about 40 minutes after a dose.

What it's studied for

Related: CJC-1295, Sermorelin, GHRP-2, Tesamorelin.
