Is eloralintide FDA-approved?

Investigational. Not FDA-approved.

Overview

Eloralintide targets the amylin receptor selectively. In a 48-week phase 2 trial in adults with obesity, average weight loss ranged from about 9% on the lowest dose to about 20% on the highest, versus under 1% on placebo.

How it works

It switches on amylin receptors in the brain, which increases fullness after meals and slows the stomach.

How long does eloralintide stay in the body?

Long enough for once-weekly shots in trials.
